Dagha & Psych Major make a “Funky Sound”

It’s the return of long-defunct hip-hop Noise Is The Trigger this morning with first new track in over a decade! The duo of Boston rhymer Dagha (Edan, Insight) and emcee/producer Psych Major have dropped “Funky Sound” a raucous and raw dose of 90’s style boom-bap that the duo have a shared passion for.

Their 2010 self-titled EP yielded the following video “Wildfellow” which featured animation from Kagan McLeod (who also illustrated the stunning History Of Rap poster)

In the intervening years Dagha has toured with his frequent collaborator Edan as well as released music with a live band (Project Tree) as well as released an unapologetic late 80’s and early 90’s centric album D-A To The G with production from DJ Real.

It’s also been a busy fall for Psych Major who had to fall back from music for a few years. “Funky Sound” is the fourth new single from him in the last month including two production singles “Peace Bridge” featuring Jamal Gasol, Wyze Wonda, DNTE and Toneyboi as well as It’s Live!” featuring Raf Almighty and Therealskitso. Most recently he dropped “Dystopia” in which he also rhymes (under his Psych 101 alias) alongside Ras Kass.
