Legendary QNC (Curt Cazal and Q-Ball), closely linked with the history of the D&D Studios, team up with Roccwell and DJ LP2 for an epic banger.
For Roccwell, one of the most memorable underground tracks from the 90s is QNCs Underground Hit, “Repertoire”:
“I remember the days when I was bumping mixtapes with this joint in my whip. Over the years, I followed every release of the “dynamic duo” and dug deeper into the group´s history, like Curt Cazal being a member of the J.V.C.F.O.R.C.E. producing for Keith Murray, K-Solo and working with DJ Premier in the D&D studios. I soon became a die hard fan of their work.” he explains.
Years later, when Roccwell discussed the possibility of a collabo album with Soulbrotha from Hamburg (they are going to release an album as “Soulrocca” pretty soon), he learned that Dan and B-Base are well connected with Q-Ball und Curt Cazal and he grabbed the chance to connect both for his recently released album “Still Lovin’ Boombap.”
He only sent them a few beats until they picked the one he had hoped gets chosen. “From CI” is a reference to their hometown Central Islip, NY, and leaves no doubt about it´s significance for 90s Hip Hop.
Roccwell’s 15 track album “Still Lovin’ Boombap” is available on all digital platforms plus Limited Edition Vinyl and features besides QNC among others Maylay Sparks, Wildelux, Ruste Juxx, Born Unique, M-Dot, Craig G, John Jigg$ and many more.
