Premiere: Lupus Dei & Onaje Jordan Are In “Rare Form” (Single)

The HomeTeam scores again! New Jersey emcee Lupus Dei and Chicago producer Onaje Jordan drop new single “Rare Form” (which we are proud to premiere).

This is the first leak from the duo’s full-length project, Respeckfully, which drops on February 26th.

Speaking on the joint, Dei related “being in ’Rare Form’ means you are the zone. If you ever saw Purple Rain then you gotta remember Billy Sparks, the Club Owner summing it up best. ‘The kid is in rare form tonight.’ That’s how I felt when making this project with Onaje.”

Over a piano and string laced instrumental (which sounds like it could be the imaginary score if Mario Puzo ever writes a hip-hop mobster tale) Lupus lays out his confidence and side-stepping the many challenges that he faces daily.

This digital single (available for purchase now via Bandcamp). As many WRG readers know, Dei and Jordan, along with their comrades, Massachusetts emcee, Killy Shoot, California spitter GeneralBackPain and upstate NY producer Chuck Chan, upstate NY emcee Deuce Hennessy and Canadian producer, Propha make up the hip-hop collecteive known as HomeTeam. While the duo has worked together on many individual joints, this is their first fully joint effort.
