Known for his collaborative work with the likes of DJ Premier, Jeru The Damaja became a household name during the golden era of early nineties New York Hip Hop. With a brash style and penchant for strong, political lyricism, he has been consistently releasing music for the past three decades.
Despite the pandemic, 2020 has seen a resurgence of releases from the legendary emcee. Weekly Rap Gods took some time to talk with Jeru about his new music, current political affairs and maintaining relevance and output as an OG in the game.
