Bub Styles Sounds the Alarm on ‘State of Fleemergency’ EP

Brooklyn’s Bub Styles has had a busy 6 months. From his September LP Boar’s Head Bubs, Cold Cut King, to the Smoke Crudo EP earlier this year, along with a slew of singles and videos in between, Bub releases his latest offering, the State of Fleemergency EP.

Recorded, mixed and mastered during the COVID epidemic from the epicenter, this project bleeds the spirit of Bub’s hometown NYC, as he takes you through the city’s darkest alleyways and highest penthouses. The sound of the project stays true to traditional braggadocious golden era hip hop while also injecting a fresh breath of modern-day bounce and wit, keeping you on the edge of your seat for the 18 minute duration of the listen. The six songs on the project are each produced by a different beatsmith, giving the EP a well-rounded, yet still cohesive sound. Some of New York’s hottest young producers provided the backdrop, including Camoflauge Monk (Griselda), Spanish Ran, Brassxbeard, The Artivist and Hongo, and the project also boasts guest verses from Manhattan, ARXV and Dusty Renoylds.

Something about this project I know you’ll enjoy. While you’re rocking out to this, be on the lookout for Bub’s upcoming album, Very Sucio, Muy Picante, set to drop this Summer.
