Shabaam Sahdeeq dropped riveting Timeless of the Collection album last year, which was a hit! Today he is releasing a double feature video for “It’s a Must” produced by DJ Ready Cee which features Planet Asia and Milano Constantine who don’t appear in the video. And then he ends it with the powerful visual for “Freedom” produced by Rkitech.
The visuals are vibrant, bold, and entertaining. The aesthetics are amazing. I was blown away by the creativity displayed. The shots were simple, yet intricate in detail. The video was shot by Shabaam himself and edited by noted videographer Megadon. The video has a spectacular color palette with great use of the art urban backdrops. What a way to close out a magnificent project. Shabaam hits a home run with substance driven content and stellar lyricism. His performance in both pieces is pure genius.
On a quest to direct and shoot his own videos, since he can’t shoot himself at all times, he sought help from his comrade Ro aka Book of Rhymes the author of the “Book of Rhymes” to shoot parts of the video in front of the civil rights icon John Lewis’ mural and a face monument of the civil rights leader John Wesley Dobbs where Auburn Avenue in Atlanta can literally be viewed through his eyes.
Shabaam is slated to drop a new project solely produced by J57 (Jamo Gang). The first single “Razor Sharp Cuts” with Born Unique & Tri State premieres this week! Meanwhile, enjoy “It’s a Must/Freedom” video below.
