YL continues with the nostalgic feels with his newest video, “Comeback”. The video was shot by Joe D’aleo in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and directed by Derek Balarezo. The video takes you back to earlier New York days as the Manhattan emcee flows with a steeze that’s mature and beyond his years. This is the second video to drop from his latest Roper Williams produced album, Babyman. The young, talented emcee is on the rise and first caught my attention when I heard his last effort with Roper, friendofafriend.
When listening to YL, he comes across as having an old soul and has that earlier east coast sound I love. He also has an appeal to the shorties whenever he drops street poetic lines to a love interest that flows like butter. YL represents New York so well but does it with such sleek finesse over production that’s light and easy on the ears. I think he’s doing great by continuing to work with Roper Williams because their collaborations don’t disappoint. I highly encourage everyone to check out friendofafriend and Babyman, because both are projects you don’t want to find yourself sleeping on.
