Shabaam Sahdeeq and El Da Sensei of Artifacts have dropped a video for “Graffiti the World”, off of Baam’s Timeless: of the Collection album. Shot and directed by Baam himself, this video is full of eye-popping, vibrant graffiti visuals. Additional shots and edits were done by Tone Spliff. There is also a live in-action cameo appearance by graffiti artist Sterby Rocks. The track features production from Jake Palumbo, who also appears briefly in the video along with MF DOOM’s protégé StaHHr.
The video was shot in multiple locations including New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles. The beat has an old school authentic Hip Hop sound that takes you back to the graffiti days of glory and you can just picture someone breaking while a DJ spins on the ones and twos. Baam is rocking some Pumas with a dope jean jacket, and you know El repped the Artifacts tattoo on his arm. If you’ve ever tagged on a bus line or hit up some train yards for bombing sessions, you can relate to this track. Makes you wanna pull out your little black book and do a quick piece before you get dressed down late night to go hit up a spot in an abandoned warehouse or dark alley.
This is for those that have an infinite love for Krylon and Rust-Oleum. For those who itch to get their hands on fat caps and spray cans so that they can paint their canvas in unique custom shaped letters and color combinations. For those who get inspired by the fumes as they glide across those walls with the filthy drips. For those who have a genuine love for the culture of this art. This one’s for you!
