Planet Asia Morphs Into “Mansa Musa” With His New Album (Music)

Planet Asia has been a highly acclaimed hip hop artist due to his impeccable work ethic and powerful lyricism. Earlier this year, we interviewed Planet Asia and discussed his career and his Golden Buddha project.

Brace yourself, Fresno’s finest is back with another Boom Bap installment Mansa Musa. With a title like that, I already knew what to expect. Nothing but the richest verses from the God and friends. Asia is definitely bringing his ‘A’ game as usual. The album features a slew of ill lyricists such as Marvelous Mag, Supreme Cerebral, Hus Kingpin, Killer Ben, SmooVth, Tristate, Rozewood, Killa Kali, Rosati, Phil The Agony, Lyric Jones and many more. This eclectic group of hip hop features and the edgy production gives the project so many layers that resonate with seasoned hip hop lovers.

Now let’s discuss my favorites! The intro “The Pilgrimage” captivated me. The production is unique and I’m feeling the extraordinary sound. Next we have “Quench My Thirst,” a melodic joint with sultry vocals from Lyric Jones and suave verses from Asia, which gives me Goldie from The Mack vibes. Then we have the gritty joint “Mini Mansions” featuring Rosati. The production on that joint is sick! It’s reminiscent of some hardcore Wu-Tang track, but in a league of its own. The transitions are smooth, but the underlying theme of the song is gutter. “Indigo Trap” featuring Phil The Agony is another banger that deserves a mention. The beat and bar exchange on that one is insane. I love when a project is cohesive and every feature meshes well. The overall chemistry is dope on Mansa Musa. I feel a strong West Coast appeal on this one.

Planet Asia keeps delivering rapid fire on his projects with his arsenal of bars. His title as a rap god is an honor well deserved. Mansa Musa is a must have for your boom bap collection. Don’t take my word for it though. Click link below and secure your copy today!
