Hip Hop collective, The Council, have released their first music video off their “Nothing Else Matters” album. The “Council Arts” video shows the group in an intense cypher with some dope visual effects to compliment it.
Originally released in September 2015, “Council Arts” was the first track recorded by long-time collaborators Five Steez, The Sickest Drama, Inztinkz and Nomad Carlos under the name The Council. There’s nothing like a hard-hitting boom bap track to start off an album.
On this joint, the four MCs exchange powerful verses over a banging drumbeat overlayed with dark piano chords, and a rich female vocal sample chopped by the group’s producer — Inztinkz.
The Council is Kingston, Jamaica’s dream team for the Hip Hop culture, consistently releasing music as solo artists over the past decade. This isn’t their first rodeo. The collective has been collaborating musically for many years.
Nothing Else Matters features neck-snapping drums and majestic instrumentation, matched by superb rapping, articulating an unheard ‘third world’ perspective, but a narrative similar to other cities globally. The album is available on CD and digitally at http://bit.ly/TheCouncilAlbum, and also on streaming platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, etc.
