Both L’Orange & Del The Funky Homosapien “Blame The Author” (Music)

The Rex Stout of hip hop, L’Orange, has yet again released another mysteriously magnetic masterpiece. This time around, a meticulously crafted number is backed by the likes of an older and wiser Del The Homosapien. L’O’s discography is impressively stacked with emcees which most recently include Oddisee, Kool Keith, Mr. Lif, Blu and Elzhi.

This track, titled “Blame The Author“, is the 3rd single from L’Orange’s upcoming album The Ordinary Man, set to release on October 27 through Mellow Music Group. Known for his abstract storytelling, L’O does not disappoint, this time showcasing a Magician who tests his boundaries in an effort to be recognized.

This song subtly differentiates from previous work, exhibiting a one sample hook, compared to L’O’s standby; cuts from old film reels and crackling records.  The track itself has an eclectic ‘Gramatik‘ vibe to it, which compliments Del’s voice and style flawlessly.

The visual accompanying the single, directed by Alexander Thompson, is a beautiful, uniquely edited short film with highly skilled animation. Del narrates this segment with his cool voice and smooth delivery that we are so well accustomed to. Follow along as Del takes us through the Magician’s quest to test his own limits.
